Digital Stamps + Inlay Die-cutting

Hello, hello! If you have not noticed, I am running out of ideas of naming my blog posts. I started off naming them after the techniques used for easy referencing, but they are all starting to sound the same although the same technique would produce considerably different results each time! So forgive me if the titles sound confusing; I will get that sorted, I promise!

Today’s card features my new Sweet As Honey digital stamps by Honey Bee Stamps. Be sure to check out Melissa’s website as she has some really pretty designs and they come in both physical and digital. The images were printed out on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White and coloured in using Copic Ciao markers. The colours on the flowers were W1, E43 and E77; the center of the flowers Y38, YR02 and YR68; and leaves G99, YG91 and YG95. The word “love” was from the same digital stamp set while the rest of the sentiment was borrowed from Happy Everything by Mama Elephant, stamped in Versafine Onyx Black.

I kept the images clean and simple as I wanted to create a layered and “graphical” background using a hill border die from the Landscape Trio by Mama Elephant. After running it through my Big Shot machine once, I offseted the die just a little so that it could cut the exact same pattern, only slightly lower than the first one, producing a thin strip. I repeated that using another hill border die from the same set to reverse the direction, and then one last time using the first die. I then traced those thin strips with a Copic E43 so that they would match the flowers.

Using the Pierced Rectangle Frame Die-namics by My Favorite Things, I made a frame out of a glossy card stock, not realising that it would produce an uneven marker colouring. However, I was quite pleased as I felt it gave the frame an unexpected faux wood grain effect. I adhered some clear beads on the flowers as well as the background using Glossy Accents by Ranger and that finished my card.

Thank you for stopping by and see you soon!

Hugs, Michelle
