Fun Times with Die-Cut Negatives and Ink Blending

Hello, hello! I am back with a warm and playful card using the adorable stamps from Planner Street!

I used images from Practice Makes Better, Let’s Go On A Roadtrip and Dance The Night Away (discount code down below!). All images were coloured using Copic markers and fussy cut. Want to know the trick to having perfect fussy cuts every time? Always line the edge of your cut images with a dark coloured pen or marker!

I then ran a watercolour paper through my die-cut machine with the Snow Drifts Cover Up Die-namics by My Favorite Things. With so much cuteness going on with the Planner girls, a simple textured background would give it the final touch it needed to make them pop.

Using the mini ink blending tools, I then applied Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn on some of the die-cut negatives to create rolling hills. I was also inspired by the sunset on my way home from work the other day so I recreated it by blending Scattered Straw, Spun Sugar and Shaded Lilac. I then traced the line on the die-cut positive on that sky panel so it would fit perfectly with the hills.

The sky panel was then mounted onto the card base with double-sided adhesive and the hills with foam tapes. The die-cut positive came in handy to ensure every panel was adhered correctly in place. I went ahead and stamped the sentiment before popping the little girls and the puppy up and ta-daa! The card is complete!
