Shaker Card + Mirror Stamping + Ink Blending
Hello, hello! I have been very intrigued by the sunset colours recently. Where I live, we are blessed with spectacular sunset views, and their beauty never ceases to amaze me! It is no surprise I had to translate that into a card!
I used Picked Raspberry, Fired Brick, Spiced Marmalade and Mustard Seed to create the sunset scene on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White. The cloud stencil was made using the cloud die from Landscape Trio. Once that was done, I die-cut two clouds off the background using (now retired) Fancy Clouds by Poppystamps. To make these my shaker windows, I adhered an acetate sheet right underneath it, after which I popped them up using two layers of double-sided foam tapes. I brushed the edges of the foam tapes with some baking flour to remove the adhesive, before filling the wells up with a sequin mix and securing them to my card base.
The star of my card was the adorable hamster from Wheelie Like You stamp set. I also mirror-stamped it so that I had two hamsters facing each other. The images were all stamped on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White using Versafine Onyx Black and coloured using Copic markers. I then fussy cut them and adhered them to the background. To ground them, I die-cut some hill borders using the Landscape Trio again, this time out of a piece of kraft card stock. I also stamped the sentiment on a strip of vellum, which I folded both ends behind the card base and secured using some normal tape.
For the finishing touch, I added some stitched lines using a black Artline pen over the clouds and the sentiment banner. I also added some dots on the hamsters and the hills for added dimension and ran my Glossy Accents over the hamsters for a raised finish.
That’s all for today. Hope you find some inspiration here.
Thank you for stopping by and see you soon!
