Digital Stamp + DIY Stencil + Inlay Die-cutting
Hello, hello! Today’s card features the Sweet As Honey digital stamps by Honey Bee Stamps. I printed a whole lot of the stamps on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White for The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge but decided to watercolour them. Bear in mind that this paper is not recommended for watercolour, so I painted them with as little strokes as I could using Shaded Lilac and Mustard Seed on the flowers, and Mowed Lawn and Lucky Clover on the leaves. I then fussy cut them.
I toyed around with the images a bit before deciding on the final arrangement. The trick to ensure you adhere them on to the card base exactly the same way you pre-arranged them is to first fixed their position using some temporary adhesive on the front. I used Scotch Removable Magic Tape but you can use washi tape or any kind of low tack adhesive that you have. Next, flip them over, apply permanent glue on the back and finally remove the front adhesive once the images are stuck to the card base.
The background was created by in-laying the positive and negative of My Favorite Things Pierced Oval Die-namics. I also stacked them up on a piece of stitched patterned vellum and indigo card stock. For added visual interest, I blended some distress ink on the oval cards using the negative of the images as a stencil. The sentiment was from Happy Everything. To finish the card, I adhered some gold and yellow sequins on to the center of the flowers with Glossy Accent by Ranger. I also added some texture on to the leaves using a white gel pen.
Thanks for stopping by and see you soon!
