Stenciling + Ink Blending
Hello, hello! I hope you are not bored with my new Modern Chevron Stencil by Echo Park Papers – I sure am not! It is amazingly versatile and I am having so much fun!
I was playing with different distress ink combinations with the stencil the other day day and had put them aside and completely forgot about it. As I was rummaging through my drawers yesterday, I found this stenciled background staring back at me and that was when an idea struck me! Mind you, it was not an easy decision considering I had to cut the “perfectly-blended” background into two, but I was feeling rather adventurous so cut it I did! The inks used were Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed and Peacock Feathers on a piece of textured card stock. The border was created using the Stitched Rectangle Die-namics by My Favorite Things.
For added visual interests, I cut it diagonally right through the center into two uneven parts. Before I adhered them onto my card base using foam tapes, I eye-balled the position of my sentiments and stamped the using the Versafine Onyx Black Ink. The sentiment was from Ella & Friends by Mama Elephant.
At this point, I figured the card needed a sparkle so I added a thin strip of silver foil card stock, just enough to peek through the sides of the stenciled background. I also added some silver stars with Glossy Accents by Ranger. Glossy Accents make an amazing adhesive, just make sure you only apply where necessary as it leaves a hard, glossy finish.
This was such a simple card; it only took me less than half an hour to create. Hope you find some inspiration for your next project.
Thank you for stopping by and see you soon!
Hugs, Michelle

Great idea to add that little bit of silver shine too. I’m so happy your getting more time to craft at the moment too!!!!
